Mission, Objectives and Activities
EducationUSA
EducationUSA is a network of hundreds of advising centers in more than 170 countries, supported by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. EducationUSA Advising Centers actively promote U.S. higher education around the world by offering accurate, comprehensive, and current information about accredited educational institutions in the United States.
Services for U.S. Higher Education Institutions
EducationUSA provides the following services for U.S. institutions to promote educational exchanges:
Briefing on current trends of Japanese students
When U.S. institutions visit Tokyo, EducationUSA Tokyo can brief on current trends of Japanese prospective students who are seeking study opportunities at U.S. institutions or who are currently studying at U.S. institutions. The briefing, including Q&A is approximately one hour and is offered Monday through Friday between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm by appointment. In addition to the briefing, if U.S. institutions wish, we can conduct “Instagram Live” Please e-mail Tokyo@educationusa.org to make an appointment during your visit to Japan. We mainly use WeWork Kojimachi (near JR Yotsuya Station) as a meeting place.
EducationUSA Tokyo is one the six EducationUSA advising centers in Japan. Please contact the individual center/personnel to make appointments.
EducationUSA Events
Due to COVID-19, most of the activities and services are currently virtual only in Japan. EducationUSA provides the following services :
- Speaking opportunities for information session on thematic topics
- Participation in EducationUSA college fairs
- Provide local high school lists which may welcome communication with U.S. higher education institutions
